The Resonant Leader Newsletter - March 2009
There is no question that these are unprecedented times. And no matter where in the world you are, the message is clear that now, more than ever, what leaders say and do matters! This is a time for transparency, empathy and integrity-each of which provide a rudder to employees during these very uncertain times. Tapping into your own and other people's hope for a better future is essential, as across the globe, everyone is trying to figure out exactly how they can not only survive today, but contribute to tomorrow's new economic and social realities.
Annie McKee delivered a keynote speech for the Etisalat Academy in Dubai to more than 400 leaders from organizations across the Middle East. Fran Johnston and Suzanne Rotondo will be leading a women &business delegation to Russia in September with the ISC Professional Exchange Network. Click here for more information. Fran will also be participating in the Gestalt International Studies Center's 2009 Annual Business Conference on May 28th-31st in South Wellfleet, Massachusetts. And, as always, click here to read Annie's latest entry on the Harvard Business Press blog.

HBR's "Make Your Case" with Commentary by Annie McKee
How Much Sharing Is Oversharing?
Every Monday morning after clearing out your email inbox you sat down for an hour-long meeting with yourself. A fresh cup of coffee and an empty sheet of paper -- to organize the week's priorities -- always made you feel invigorated, productive, calm.
But today, distractions kept creeping in. You found it hard to focus, thinking about the layoffs that were rumored to be coming. There were five mid-level managers in your group, including you, and it sounded like the company was looking to eliminate at least one. What if it's me? you wondered, following that depressing train of thought for a few moments before an annoying inner voice piped up, Well it will be you, Liz, if you don't get your act together and get back to work!
With new resolve, you turned back to the still-empty sheet of paper.
