The Resonant Leader Newsletter - May 2009

You asked, we've responded!

We're thrilled to be offering our first open enrollment ICF-certified Executive Coach Developemnt Program. See below for more information on this 12-day residential program, beginning in July 2009. There are still a few spots open, so please contact us for more information.

We'd also like to share with you a recent review in the latest issue of the Organization Management Journal of the three books published by our founders. Read on for the full review.

A review of Becoming a Resonant Leader: contextualizing the place of Emotional Intelligence skills with respect to team leadership from the "Organization Management Journal" (2009).

Becoming a Resonant Leader (2008) by Annie McKee, Richard Boyatzis and Frances Johnston arrives in the marketplace with a noteworthy pedigree. First in line was Emotional Intelligence, by Daniel GOleman (1995), the best-selling volume that promoted the constructive handling of emotions for personal development and social effectiveness. That work spawned Primal Leadership, which analyzed the role of EI in leadership, and emphasized the critical contribution of leaders who channel emotions in a positive direction to support high organizational performance.

Teleos delivers a 3-week ICF-Certified Coach Development Program

Our 12-day, (over 6-months) residential program has been delivered to global companies to increase internal capacity to support on-going development of leaders throughout the organization.

This program is fully-accredited by ICF (International Coach Federation) and provides the testing you need to apply immediately for ICF certification at the ACC, PCC or MCC level, depending on the coaching hours you already have.

Using a process of inquiry and personal discovery, we build the coach's level of awareness and skills to provide the client with structure, support, and feedback.

Teleos Leadership Institute takes a positive, holistic approach to coaching and uses a developmental perspective to cultivate expert, executive coaches.

In this course you will:

  • Work intensively to develop your emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-management, social and relational skills).
  • Receive intense exposure to Teleos research, writing and core concepts as foundations of the coaching process (emotional intelligence, intentional change, Gestalt cycle of experience, adult learning, systems theory, and more) to provide support and advice to very senior leadership.Learn to build a deep, trusting and boundary-defined relationship with your clients.
  • Practice coaching skills extensively to develop your ability to support leaders addressing issues related to their leadership style, behaviors, development of others and overall effectiveness.
  • Conduct interview-style, qualitative 360-degree reviews, thematically analyze the data, and provide critical and compassionate feedback.
  • Practice a relational approach that creates an empathetic, supportive, non-judgmental environment to guide your clients.
