Fiona Coffey
Senior Consultant
 Fiona Coffey is a Senior Associate of Teleos Leadership Institute, a global consulting firm that supports organizations in strengthening their leadership capabilities and producing transformational change. Based in the UK, Fiona has nearly 20 years’ experience consulting and coaching at senior levels in large private sector organizations, including BP, Microsoft, Nokia and Barclays Bank and across Central Government. Her expertise lies in working with Boards, chief executives and directors on both strategic problem-solving and their own effectiveness, and providing leaders with the skills and support required to deliver performance improvement and change. Fiona’s academic background is in business and organization psychology. She is a highly experienced facilitator and coach with an instinctive ability to energise and bring out the best in people. She combines this skill with a wealth of practical experience, and a business-like approach to performance improvement at work.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Alongside her association with Teleos, Fiona has run a highly successful consulting business for the past 15 years, delivering coaching, training, facilitation and organizational consultancy for a range of blue-chip clients. Her recent experience work includes strategic facilitation and coaching for the BP Global Lubricants Technology Leadership Team, based in Pangbourne, UK, credited with achieving major shifts in behaviour and performance over a period of 18 months. She developed a new approach to 360 degree feedback in Microsoft, to address the perceived disruptive behaviours of otherwise high-flying managers. She worked with new Executive Team of the Independent Police Complaints Commission during its controversial and high profile start up phase.
Fiona’s recent training experience includes leadership and client management skills development for IMS, a pharmaceutical consultancy; a programme for OD specialists in Nokia on systemic approaches to organisational change; and a large scale programme on project leadership for the Office of Fair Trading. She also designed an innovative leadership development programme for civil servants incorporating Forum theatre, as well as teaching her own public programme for change agents ‘Experiments at Work’. She has coached many senior leaders through various transitions in their careers, and has also worked with leaders on their presence and impact in preparation for major speeches.
Fiona’s business background includes line roles at Citibank and British Airways before starting her consultancy career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1989 and establishing her own business in 1993.
EDUCATION
Fiona has a First Class Honours Degree in Business Studies from the University of Edinburgh and a Masters Degree with distinction in Industrial Relations and Industrial Psychology from the London School of Economics. She has undertaken five years of part time post graduate study in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Psychotherapy, Gestalt in Organisations and Bert Hellinger’s Constellations method in organizations. She is a certified practitioner of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and Firo-B instruments.
